- Types of Climbing
We cater for 3 styles of climbing;
- Bouldering
- Top-roping
- Lead (Sport) Climbing
- Bouldering
Bouldering is climbing in its purist form:
- It is proven to be the best way to improve technique and power no matter what your discipline
- It is available to all ages and abilities
- Something you can do on your own, with friends and also a way to meet new friends
- No ropes, no gear just pure climbing in a safe environment
- It is the quickest way to do the most in the least time
Our bouldering walls are around 4.5 metres high with special landing mats to minimise risk of injury. We offer circuit-style bouldering similarly to what is found in Fontainebleau with grades from UK 3c up to UK 7a, our circuits are changed on a two month basis keeping our problems fresh and challenging.
- Top-roping
Top roping is psychologically easier than the rest:
- The safest way to enjoy climbing
- A way to start to learn the basic rope work techniques
- Often a relaxed, chilled out session with lots of talking and Tea breaks
- A safe, contained option for the lively child
At the wall we have over 20 top roped climbs always available, they range in height from 6-9 metres, angles also vary from easy slabs to our head wall which overhangs to 35 degrees. We regularly reset our climbs to keep it fresh and exciting.- Lead Climbing
Lead climbing something for the daring:
- Exciting, exhilarating climbing with potential of airtime
Lead climbing is often something done after a while of climbing, it tends to be exciting for both the climber and be-layer with possibilities of large, safe falls concentration is a must . In the wall we have around 30 lead climb always available to catch some air time, like the top ropes they range from 6-9 metres and vertical to 35 degrees overhanging.
